Product Overview

The IWA-HM200 is a compact handheld monitor that brings true veterinary capnography and pulse oximetry to the point of care. It measures inspired and end-tidal CO2, respiration rate and oxygen saturation, displaying a live capnogram and plethysmogram on a 3.95-inch capacitive touchscreen.

End-tidal CO2 is measured by a built-in sidestream module, with an external mainstream CO2 sensor available for intubated patients. At 370 g with a 6-hour battery and USB-C charging, the IWA-HM200 is built for daily in-clinic checks and field emergency care — carried between exam rooms or taken on house calls.

Clinical Applications

  • Capnography during anaesthesia in canine, feline and equine patients
  • Confirmation of endotracheal tube placement and ongoing ventilation monitoring
  • Recovery-area monitoring of respiration and oxygenation after anaesthesia
  • Emergency and critical-care assessment during resuscitation and transport
  • Ambulatory house-call and field use where a benchtop monitor is impractical

Workflow & Setup Notes

  • Use the built-in sidestream module for spontaneous or mask breathing; attach the external mainstream CO2 sensor in-line for intubated patients.
  • The capnogram and plethysmogram render in real time once the 2-minute initialisation completes.
  • Charge through the USB-C port or seat the unit in the charging cradle between cases.
  • Set EtCO2, respiration and SpO2 alarm thresholds per protocol; alarms are both audible and visual.

Manufacturer warranty period [TBC]. Training, maintenance and servicing are provided through the local distributor. The built-in lithium battery is non-replaceable; sensors and sampling kits are wear items.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the IWA-HM200 measure both CO2 and SpO2?
Yes. It is a true veterinary capnograph and pulse oximeter, measuring inspired and end-tidal CO2, respiration rate and SpO2 on one handheld unit.
What is the difference between sidestream and mainstream CO2?
The built-in sidestream module draws a gas sample through tubing and suits spontaneous or mask breathing. The optional external mainstream sensor sits in-line at the airway for intubated patients, with no sample tubing.
How long does the battery last?
The built-in 300 mAh lithium battery runs for up to 6 hours on a full charge and recharges over USB-C or in the cradle. The battery is non-replaceable.
Which species does it support?
Canine, feline, equine and other patients. CO2 and SpO2 are species-independent measurements; select an SpO2 sensor site (tongue, ear, paw) appropriate to the patient.
Can it display CO2 in mmHg?
Yes. CO2 concentration can be shown as a volume percentage (%), in kPa, or in mmHg.
