An 80 cm O-shaped gantry for CT, radiography, fluoroscopy and dental panoramic — 4.5 s scans with 0.2 mm slices.
Product Overview
Vetist 3 is an O-shaped veterinary cone-beam CT (CBCT) system from Rayvision Medical. It combines CT, static digital radiography (DR), fluoroscopy and dental panoramic imaging, with an 80 cm aperture and a 72 × 42 cm maximum field of view.
A 4.5 s scan, the CT-AIR breath-hold platform and one-click triple-phase contrast capture make contrast-enhanced thoracic and abdominal studies routine, while the Large Animal Imaging Mode covers large-breed canine patients.
Key Features
- 80 cm O-shaped gantry — 72 × 42 cm maximum field of view.
- 4.5 s CT scan — 0.2 mm minimum slice thickness, up to 1000 reconstructed slices, 3072 × 3072 detector matrix.
- 4-in-1 imaging — CT, static DR, fluoroscopy and dental panoramic from one system.
- CT-AIR breath-hold platform — holds the patient at end-inspiration to eliminate respiratory motion artefact.
- Experience-triggered triple-phase contrast capture — one-click arterial, venous and delayed phases.
- Spectral correction and Smart MAR — reduces beam-hardening and metal artefact for orthopaedic and post-operative studies.
- Large Animal Imaging Mode — dedicated protocol for large body sizes with triple-phase contrast support.
- Dental platform and standardised reporting — full-arch panoramic from one scan; templated reports for routine examinations.

Clinical Case Highlights
- Portosystemic shunt — CT angiography showed multiple tortuous vessels near the left kidney with oesophageal varices, consistent with an acquired shunt secondary to primary hepatic disease.
- Thoracic duct imaging — Used to investigate limb oedema and chylothorax, assess thoracic duct ligation outcome, and map sentinel lymph nodes in oncology patients.
- Tympanic empyema — CT showed purulent material in the tympanic cavity with surrounding inflammation, correlating with head shaking and aural discharge.

FAQ
Q: How does Vetist 3 differ from Vetease 3?
Both have an 80 cm aperture, 4.5 s scan, 0.2 mm slices and a 72 × 42 cm field of view. Vetist 3 uses an O-shaped gantry with a 0.2 mm minimum pixel size; Vetease 3 uses a ring gantry with a 0.14 mm minimum pixel size.
Q: How does it compare with Vetist 5?
Vetist 5 shares the 80 cm O-shaped gantry but scans in 3.8 s with 0.14 mm slices, and adds DSA, an exotic-species mode and dual-field bone imaging.
Q: What room does it need?
