CT, radiography, fluoroscopy and dental panoramic on one ring gantry — a 4.5 s scan across a 72 × 42 cm field of view.
Product Overview
Vetease 3 is a ring-gantry veterinary cone-beam CT (CBCT) system from Rayvision Medical. One installation delivers CT, static digital radiography (DR), dynamic DR (fluoroscopy) and dental panoramic imaging, so a practice adds cross-sectional imaging without giving up a second room for radiography.
The 80 cm aperture, 72 × 42 cm maximum field of view and 4.5 s scan time cover routine head, thoracic, abdominal and dental studies. The Large Animal Imaging Mode and the CT-AIR breath-hold platform extend the system to larger canine patients and to motion-sensitive thoracic work.
Key Features
- 4-in-1 imaging — CT, static DR, fluoroscopy and dental panoramic from a single gantry.
- 4.5 s CT scan — 0.2 mm minimum slice thickness, 0.14 mm minimum pixel size, up to 1000 reconstructed slices.
- CT-AIR breath-hold platform — a built-in respiratory device holds the patient at end-inspiration to suppress motion artefact.
- Experience-triggered triple-phase contrast capture — one-click arterial, venous and delayed phases with real-time observation.
- Spectral correction and Smart MAR — multi-energy spectral optimisation removes beam-hardening artefact; metal-artefact reduction restores tissue detail around implants.
- Large Animal Imaging Mode — protocol designed for large body sizes, with triple-phase contrast supported.
- Multi-dimensional dental platform — one scan captures the complete upper and lower arches and the jaw.
- Standardised viewing and reporting — templated reports generated for routine examinations to reduce transcription error.

Clinical Case Highlights
- Portosystemic shunt — CT angiography showed multiple tortuous vessels near the left kidney with oesophageal varices, consistent with an acquired shunt secondary to primary hepatic disease.
- Thoracic duct imaging — Used to investigate congenital or acquired limb oedema and the cause of chylothorax, assess thoracic duct ligation outcome, and map sentinel lymph nodes in oncology patients.
- Tympanic empyema — CT showed purulent material in the tympanic cavity with surrounding inflammation, correlating with head shaking and aural discharge.
Site Planning and Installation

Why Choose Vetease 3
- Workflow efficiency — CT, DR, fluoroscopy and dental panoramic share one room and one workstation; triple-phase contrast studies start with one click.
- Clinical accuracy — CT-AIR breath-hold, spectral correction and Smart MAR address the three main sources of CBCT artefact: motion, beam hardening and metal.
- Practice economics — One installation serves CT, radiography, fluoroscopy and dental caseloads, and preset dose management standardises every scan.
Warranty and Support
1-year whole-system warranty. Extended warranty is available for purchase — contact IWA for terms and service coverage in your region.
Installation is carried out against the manufacturer’s installation manual: the main unit and patient table are connected, the console and workstation are cabled, and scanning, reconstruction, fluoroscopy and DR acquisition are verified before handover.
FAQ
Q: How does Vetease 3 differ from Vetist 3?
Both use an 80 cm aperture, 4.5 s scan, 0.2 mm slices and a 72 × 42 cm field of view. Vetease 3 uses a ring gantry with a 0.14 mm minimum pixel size and adds the Smart Imaging Enhancement algorithm suite; Vetist 3 uses an O-shaped gantry with a 0.2 mm minimum pixel size.
Q: What room does it need?
A shielded room of 3 mm lead equivalent, at least 3 × 3 m (3.5 × 3.5 m recommended), a single-phase (220 ±22) VAC supply of ≥ 15 kVA on a dedicated breaker, and 30 cm clearance around the system.
Q: Can it scan large-breed dogs?
Yes. The Large Animal Imaging Mode is designed for large body sizes and supports triple-phase contrast. The brochure does not state a maximum patient weight — confirm your caseload with IWA.
Q: Does it replace a separate DR room?
Vetease 3 includes static DR and fluoroscopy with edge enhancement and TPLO / VHS / TTA measurement tools, so radiography can be performed on the same system.
Q: What warranty applies?
1-year whole-system warranty, with extended warranty available for purchase.
