Product Overview
The IWA-CAPNO-P is the professional configuration of the mainstream capnograph range. It measures, displays and monitors expired CO2 partial pressure and respiration rate during anaesthesia, recovery and respiratory therapy, with the sensor mounted directly on an in-line airway adapter for measurement at the airway and no sampling line.
As a fully solid-state device it shows a real-time EtCO2 waveform within 4 seconds of power-up and needs no user calibration. The professional configuration adds optional Bluetooth data transfer for record-keeping and remote display, while retaining the under-65 g form factor and IPX4 protection of the range.
Key Features
- Mainstream measurement at the airway — no sampling line, no water trap
- Real-time EtCO2 waveform displayed within 4 seconds of power-up
- Fully solid-state design — rugged and reliable in demanding environments
- No user calibration required
- Optional Bluetooth data transfer for record-keeping and remote display
- 1.4-inch colour TFT display with EtCO2 value, respiration rate and capnogram
- Comprehensive audible-and-visual alarms: adapter check, apnoea, low battery, EtCO2 and RR limits
- Under 65 g sensor head adds minimal weight to the breathing circuit
- IPX4 ingress protection
- Adult airway adapter dead space ≤6 ml; paediatric / neonatal adapter ≤1 ml

Workflow & Setup Notes
- Fit the airway adapter in-line between the endotracheal tube and breathing circuit, then mount the sensor head on the adapter.
- Select the adult (≤6 ml) or paediatric/neonatal (≤1 ml) adapter to match patient size and minimise dead space.
- A real-time EtCO2 waveform appears within 4 seconds; no warm-up calibration is required.
- Pair the optional Bluetooth link for record-keeping or remote display where required.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How does the IWA-CAPNO-P differ from the IWA-CAPNO-E?
- Both are mainstream capnographs sharing the same sensor performance. The professional IWA-CAPNO-P adds optional Bluetooth data transfer and supports a rechargeable lithium battery in addition to AAA cells.
- Does the IWA-CAPNO-P need calibration?
- No. It is a fully solid-state device requiring no user calibration, showing a real-time EtCO2 waveform within 4 seconds of power-up.
- What does the Bluetooth option do?
- Optional Bluetooth allows EtCO2 and respiration data to be transferred for record-keeping or remote display. It is an optional feature of the professional configuration.
- Which airway adapter should I use?
- Use the adult adapter (dead space ≤6 ml) for larger patients and the paediatric/neonatal adapter (≤1 ml) for small patients to minimise added dead space.
- Which species does it support?
- Canine, feline, equine and other intubated or mask-ventilated patients. Match the airway adapter to patient size.
