The LumaVet Equine Handheld DR X-Ray System is a complete cordless imaging kit purpose-built for equine ambulatory and on-farm practice. A battery-powered handheld X-ray generator pairs with a 10×12″ wireless flat-panel DR detector and a field-ready laptop running DR acquisition software — the entire workflow runs from a single aluminium carry case, with no mains power required between charges.

Two X-ray generator options share the same kit: the lightweight handheld Mini90 (40–90 kV, 6–10 mA) for routine limb and dental imaging, and the ULTRA 9020BT high-frequency-inverter generator (1.35 kW, 12–20 mA, 0.32–30 mAs) for thicker anatomy and faster exposures. Both deliver 40–90 kV and accept the same wireless DR panel.

Choose Mini90 if your caseload is dominated by distal-limb, hoof and dental imaging on standing horses — the lighter 6–10 mA output is sufficient and the dual-handle ergonomics shine for hands-free aiming. Choose ULTRA 9020BT if you regularly image thicker anatomy or want shorter exposure times — the 12–20 mA / 0.32–30 mAs envelope produces the same penetrating power at faster shutter speeds. Both pair with the same detector and software.

Is the system truly cordless?

Yes. The X-ray generator runs from an internal Li-polymer battery, the DR detector runs from its own internal battery, and the laptop runs from its standard battery. There is no obligatory mains tether during exposure — only between cases for recharging.
