Reading a 30-gram body takes 100-micron eyes — iPet-400Pro Exotic Edition, the exotic-specialty configuration of the Pro platform.
Product Overview
Imaging a 35-gram budgerigar and imaging a 35-kilogram retriever are two different disciplines. Small-patient skeletal structures are hair-fine — beyond what a standard detector’s pixel density resolves — and forceful restraint can itself cause injury. The iPet-400Pro Exotic Edition answers both problems: the iLume 4343Pro high-resolution flat panel brings 100 µm pixel pitch (standard panels: 139 µm), turning small-patient bone detail from visible into readable; and the 90°-rotating gantry lets rabbits, birds, and reptiles be imaged in standing or natural posture, keeping restraint stress down. An exotic positioning accessory kit and a species exposure-parameter library (rabbit / avian / reptile / guinea pig) ship with the system.
Key Features
- iLume 4343Pro flat panel — 100 µm pixel pitch (139 µm standard); a step change in small-patient skeletal detail.
- Standing / natural-posture projection reduces restraint stress in exotic patients.
- Exotic-species exposure library + positioning accessory kit — rabbit, avian, reptile, and guinea-pig presets ready at switch-on.
- Full general-practice capability retained — routine canine and feline radiography identical to the standard Pro.
- DICOM worklist — order straight to DR — exam orders arrive at the workstation automatically; no double data entry.

Why Choose the Exotic Edition
- Detail resolution — 100 µm pixel pitch turns hair-fine small-patient skeletal detail from visible into readable.
- Animal welfare — standing and natural-posture projection with the positioning kit lowers restraint stress and restraint-injury risk.
- Specialty from day one — the species exposure library works at switch-on; no protocol building from scratch.
Warranty & Support
Two-year warranty on hardware and software. Engineer-led on-site installation, calibration, and training included.
FAQ
Q: How does the Exotic Edition differ from the standard Pro?
Three points: the iLume 4343Pro high-resolution panel (100 µm pixel pitch vs 139 µm), the exotic positioning accessory kit, and the exotic-specialty software package (rabbit / avian / reptile / guinea-pig exposure library and positioning protocols).
Q: Can a 30-gram bird produce a readable radiograph?
That is what the Exotic Edition is configured for: 100 µm pixel density resolves hair-fine small-patient skeletal structures, and the species library sets exposure by body size.
Q: Is forceful restraint always required?
The gantry supports standing and natural-posture projection; combined with the positioning kit, most studies can be completed at low stress. Restraint plans should still follow species behaviour.
Q: Can it image canine and feline patients too?
Yes. The Exotic Edition retains full general-practice capability, identical to the standard Pro for routine canine and feline radiography.
Q: Where are the full detector specifications?
The iLume 4343Pro technical datasheet is being finalised; contact IWA for the current parameter sheet.
